About the organization
Centre for Transforming India is registered non-profit Trust under Indian Trusts Act, 1882. Centre for transforming India aims to bring opportunities to people in rural India by empowering them through education, health care & economic opportunities. Their aim is to create social harmony & further the growth of India through education, poverty alleviation, women empowerment, help in natural calamities, medical aid, art & culture etc. They work with the weaker & marginalised sections of the society & help them improve their standard of living & overcome the obstacles faced due to the lack of sufficient incentives. CFTI does a lot of grassroot level work during emergencies, crisis, lockdowns & natural calamities. Their USP is the ground level support team which enjoys close door to door binding & connect with the beneficiaries which is required to do relief work in the hour of crisis.
Aims & Objectives –
- To empower the rural population of India through education & poverty alleviation schemes.
- To provide modern educational facilities to villages & ensure that it creates a positive impact on current & future generations.
- To promote health awareness, implement health care schemes, provide food, medicines, and other support to economically-challenged people suffering from curable or incurable diseases.
- To work towards women empowerment and gender equality and help them attain economic self-sufficiency.
- To promote sports, help with training & equipment and promote rising sporting stars from rural India.
- To raise awareness about art and culture from rural India and bring it to the mainstream. To promote local artists and art from indigenous communities.
Activities
Rural Education: CFTI is presently working in the Raigad district and have tied up with PNP Education Trust. The PNP Education Trust has setup a total of 27 Marathi medium schools & 7 colleges across Raigad district. A large majority of these schools are completely free & cater to the under privileged children of the district.
Women Empowermet: CFTI trains & aids various women self-help groups. The objective of this to make the women financially self-sufficient & instill a sense of confidence in them. Their aim is to build an environment where women can express themselves freely without fear of oppression & discrimination. This means promoting the entry of women into the workforce and ensuring their presence in diverse sectors. They undertake women healthcare & nutrition programs from time to time covering the unprivileged sections of the society.
Art & Culture: CFTI undertakes various activities to encourage art & culture for local artisans. CFTI works towards creating a platform for rural artisans by organising events, exhibitions & competitions. The aim of the events is to integrate the artists with mainstream talent & help them showcase their skills on a global scale.
Rural Sports:Â CFTI provides the infrastructure, equipment, training & nutrition to budding sports person to help them participate at the highest level. It also connects talented sport person with sponsors who can fund their international training & events.
They have also worked extensively during COVID19 pandemic. They have reached each and every corner of the district with help.

CFTI works for very grass root level communities and has a strong network at the level because of which they can map and carry out due diligence of actual needy people. CFTI intends to bridge the gap between the donors who are not aware of the actual needs of these communities and the communities who are in need of basic needs but cannot reach out to the donors. CFTI is open for ‘Workplace-giving” programs and implements all their programs in a way that it impacts the actual underprivileged communities, providing a sense of satisfaction to the corporates. The corporates can even feel free to carry out inspection at any stage of program implementation i.e pre, during and post. They also provide a detailed report to corporate that includes images, videos, communication with beneficiaries, detailed impact report etc.

- More than 700 volunteers are working for CFTI at very grassroots level.
- Due to these strong grassroots connect we know the actual situation in the remote rural villages.
- CFTI has strong due diligence mechanism due to which the donors help reaches to the actual
- needy.
- CFTI provides detailed impact assessment report along with actual images and videos of
- distribution, purchase orders, invoices, list of beneficiaries with contact details. Donor can
- contact any beneficiary directly.
- CFTI provides CA certified utilization report of funds donated by the donors.
- We keep monitoring these beneficiaries for the period of 3 years post implementation of the
- program. We do this through tele calling, visits to schools, home visits.
- We conduct 3 training sessions with these beneficiaries post implementation. These sessions are
- on self-defence, menstrual hygiene and career guidance.
- There are many needy at the bottom of pyramid and at the same time there are many corporate.
- These corporates are willing to donate but they can’t reach up to these needy.
- CFTI works as a bridge between these needy and the corporate donors.
- Apart from all above we have the expertise in this vertical.
- Till date we have impacted the lives of 17,000+ girl students.
